Cafe, Salton Sea, oil on canvas, 20″ x 60″
Patricia Chidlaw is an unassuming artist. In fact, were you introduced to her, it might take awhile until she reveals her painterly self. But once you get linked in (check out her website) you will be blown away by her talent. Her portfolio reads like a book of memories, filled with familiar scenes, life as we have experienced it. Crash-Land evokes the Southern California day length, and the buildings could be, well, anywhere that has palm trees and circa 1960s-1970s era structures. We too have been there and seen it, yet…there is beauty as Patricia paints the stories about things we will miss when the physical world has left us.
